Inspired by moods of science fiction, a striking Lady from a not so distant future, turning her head with a smouldering side-long glance.
This painting began with a Raw Umber canvas, the highlights and forms are firstly added with white oil paint. Glazes of colour mixed with Linseed Oil follow, and the tonal values are balanced gradually and allowed to dry before the next coating. The translucent applications of colour allow Lead White high tones to reflect light back at the viewer, adding a subtle luminance and reflectivity.

Commissioned by a private collector, Ethel pays homage to the ideal of timeless beauty and the Art Deco style. The canvas starts with a brown underpainting, adding chalk and charcoal outlines to map in the details. Once the features are in place, white highlights are super imposed until the image is tonally balanced. Subsequently glazes of brown tint are applied in low concentration with Linseed Oil and finally a coat of varnish.

A renaissance inspired painting, expressing the pious gaze of a classical and serene Virgin Mary.
Numerous layers of individually applied tints are overlaid on the grisaille underpainting of dark brown. The lighter white and yellow tones are added to begin and followed by oranges, then reds and finally browns and blacks.

The atmosphere of this oil painting is as cold as it is attractive, simultaneously voyeuristic and discrete. In that respect, nakedness becomes a kind of clothing.
In a technical way this blue based painting has bright areas as well as hollowed shadows. Firstly adding a glaze of purified linseed oil with the colours blue and umbra. Then spraying an alcoholic nebula on the painting so that the colour body becomes bubbly. In that way this artwork oscillates between opaque and translucent colour impressions from tonal valuing in a Grisaille fashion.

Characterised by Romanesque elegant curves, with an aristocratic and god-like touch. This image of the historical Emperor, Alexander the Great is painted in blue grisaille.
The painting seems archaic and modern at the same time, we see the sensibility and empathy in the features. The message of this artwork is: emperors as well as powerful people and even gods should take care of their power, working with scrupulousness as opposed to brutishness and violence.

A miracle arena of wonders biological, mineral and atmospheric are seen, along with cultural artefacts, past, present and future. These are displayed in a psycho-physical pandemonium, with scale jumps between figures and architectural fragments, suggesting an alternative dimension of different physical laws.

In this image, an un-earthly assembly. The depiction seems like an apotheosis or an animalistic last judgement. The title “Audience at the Temple” reminds of a divine temple of the Gods. This panoramic image cultivates a baroque perspective of abstract cathedrals, where the attendant figures, man and beast are bright and expectant, acting as heavenly guides to an unknown paradise. Central ethereal figures in prayer, seem to belong to a different and numinous reality.

Roots, lianas and snakes connect and embrace each other, staging their struggle for life within a medusa-like throng. Depictions of evolutionary possibilities are brought into existence, atomic and cosmic energies bring forth life with a resulting diversity of primeval beings and more complex species appearing from a vortex spiral. Entities drawn in from alternate dimensions, cross-converging otherwise separated worlds, but interlocking worlds.
